During a drop attack, the individual typically remains conscious and alert, but they are unable to maintain an upright posture and may fall to the ground abruptly. Drop attacks can be caused by various underlying conditions or factors, including certain neurological disorders, vestibular dysfunction, cardiovascular issues, or medication side effects. They can be disruptive and pose a risk for injury, especially if they occur unexpectedly.
